If you are struggling to keep up with cleaning or have too much around that you begin to lose track, then embracing minimalism might be what you are looking for.
I remember having an enormous amount of items and didn’t know how to keep things organized. I would just pack them away and it would never be touched again. It began a cycle of just collecting unnecessary things that I should have thrown away.
Here I would like to talk about signs you might need to start embracing minimal. I think It may help remove things from your life you didn’t know was keeping you from feeling free.
01. You are a shopaholic.
You probably like buying a lot of things because you have an urge. These are the things that you never needed but you wanted for the spur of the moment. Now you have that item sitting somewhere hardly being used.
Before embracing minimalism, I used to buy clothes and barley wear them. It was in the moment and It made me feel good. I have a lot of other clothes that I could have worn but felt like I needed something new. This can also be anything from clothes to electronics. We simply get a lot of things marketed to us and we just buy them because we thought we needed it.
02. You can’t keep track of what you have
You know you have something you needed but can’t find it. We forget where you put things most of the time. So you end up having to buy it again. I often do this with tools for my car, I have a bunch of sockets and bolts lying around but I can never find the right one so I just go get another. Having less makes it easier to organize and keep track of what you have so getting what you need is a lot easier
03. You feel weighted
Have you ever felt the weight lifted off your shoulder because you got rid of something? This doesn’t have to be a physical thing it can also be mental. I recently got rid of some old belongings and I instantly felt “lighter”. Try cleaning out your closet or desk drawer of unwanted items and see how it makes you feel. It’s important to note; don’t just simply throw stuff away for the sake of cleaning. Make sure that you are never going to used it in the future. For example; I threw away some zip ties and I ended up having to buy again because I needed them for use. Just make sure the things you throw way are useless like empty boxes.
04. You’ve gained weight
Being minimal can also apply to how we eat. The fewer things we consume such as junk food, the fewer calories our body have to burn. This essentially well help you lose weight. Cutting out empty carb loaded foods like cookies and chips will help you shed a few pounds through the year. We tend to eat lots of foods with high calories. They have no valuable nutrition and before you realize it, we’ve gained extra pounds. Embracing minimalism can help you cut down on the unnecessary food we buy. It takes more than just cutting out foods, you should follow a proper nutrition that works for you with regular exercise to help you maintain a healthy life.
Conclusion
If you are going through any of these like I have, then embracing minimalism can be beneficial to you. Downsizing can help you achieve the mental clarity you need.
